Where’s That Dream

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems. Beautiful and melancholy. No wonder you liked Ryan Stone’s “The Weight.” You have the same sensibilities.

Oh sorry for my misreading of your article, and assuming you to be the author of “The Weight ” , but I shall definitely follow your friend Ryan Stone. Smiling to myself, so nice of you to reply.

Thankyou for your comment, most of my writings tend to be wistful, but hopefully with a touch of optimism.

You were spot on. Thanks for suggesting the read. I loved it. Words, form, rhythm, everything felt so well put together. Words of the soul, once more. It is gorgeous.

This was the most emotional, moving of the last 3 poetry I read from you. So much melancholy and pain, I had to cry. “smile, crack from pain, sorrow, caught it tomorrow……”…and not even her dreams are left….all is gone. Where so much was, everything seems broken…one more reminder, to keep on smiling from time to time, altough it is a hard time. And never forget, to realize your dreams…..thank you ivor!
