Sincere thanks to “Poetry Festival”, for firstly publishing my poem, “A Single Atom”, and now, also for this lovely reading of my poem. I hope you all enjoy the poem reading as much as I did, Cheers. My Friends.

The poem is about my turmoil of thoughts and doubts, between my recently departed wife, and my starting up of a new relationship.
What motivated you to write this poem?
Lots of bad dreams and guilt.
How long have you been writing poetry?
I’ve been writing poetry for twenty-two years, although I’ve only been going public with my writings for the last eight years.

I’d love to have dinner with Leonard Cohen.
What influenced you to submit to have your poetry performed by a professional actor?

Lovely Ivor.
It must be fantastic to hear your own words interpreted by another and read so well.

I would also like to offer my condolences. Being a caregiver is tough, but an honor. I’m watching my father care for his father and know it isn’t easy, yet the love is beautiful to watch.
My best to you as you move forward. Glad to read you’ve found a new happiness in your day. Wonderful.

Thankyou so much for your kind thoughts, and yes there’s something special about the love that is shared during those caring times. Unfortunately I have to inform that the new found love, lasted three years, but don’t worry, I’m now comfortable in my own little abode keeping myself busy with my writings, and enjoying my new found enthusiasm that has returned to my poetry. ♡

Just back from my workshop, it was fairly intense, even had to write some poems on the spot, in different format than what I’m used to, and then read them out to the group, anyhow I think I did ok, it was a very interesting day ….

Is it sad that I would find a day like yours to be one of fun great satisfaction? Not if you’re a poet. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed yourself. I’m going to jump on my first opportunity to do the same.

Wow, congratulations Ivor! That was so beautiful. I am sorry to hear your new relationship ended. Even when surrounded by people it can get lonely when there’s no one special sharing your life. Thanks for writing your poetry Ivor.

Yes, it was a bit sad, but I took it ok.😊, In comparison to the awful grief of my wife’s passing, the parting of ways in a relationship seem quite minor ….. well nearly, I was hurt, but I wasn’t crushed !!. Thank you for your concern ♡

Yes Colleen, I felt that too, and I didn’t expect it to be read by a sweet female voice, and I adored that different feel she gave my poem. A beautiful thrill for me, and there it is on YouTube forever. ..
