The poem is about my turmoil of thoughts and doubts, between my recently departed wife, and my starting up of a new relationship.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Thankyou so much for your kind thoughts, and yes there’s something special about the love that is shared during those caring times. Unfortunately I have to inform that the new found love, lasted three years, but don’t worry, I’m now comfortable in my own little abode keeping myself busy with my writings, and enjoying my new found enthusiasm that has returned to my poetry. ♡

      2. Just back from my workshop, it was fairly intense, even had to write some poems on the spot, in different format than what I’m used to, and then read them out to the group, anyhow I think I did ok, it was a very interesting day ….

  1. Wow, congratulations Ivor! That was so beautiful. I am sorry to hear your new relationship ended. Even when surrounded by people it can get lonely when there’s no one special sharing your life. Thanks for writing your poetry Ivor.

    1. Yes, it was a bit sad, but I took it ok.😊, In comparison to the awful grief of my wife’s passing, the parting of ways in a relationship seem quite minor ….. well nearly, I was hurt, but I wasn’t crushed !!. Thank you for your concern ♡

    1. Yes Colleen, I felt that too, and I didn’t expect it to be read by a sweet female voice, and I adored that different feel she gave my poem. A beautiful thrill for me, and there it is on YouTube forever. ..
