Whistling palms
Visions of calm
Looking up and over
My verandah roof
Above, neighbouring wind-break trellis
Through the whisperings
A drooping willow tree
Sheltered aside
By darkened-green cypress pines
Beyond their leaf’s silhouette
The sky’s a clear
Morning blue
No gathering clouds in sight
My future arises bright

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I feel the wind in the trees and the sun kissing my skin from your words, very evocative and the photo of the green leaves against the lavender sky is beautiful, how lovely that you are greeted by this in the morning today. I was humming Lavender’s Blue Dilly Dilly looking at your photograph.

Once again a great poem. I love sitting outside (in warm weather of course) and listening to the wind blow through the pine trees in front of my house. The sound has an uncanny way of finding my soul and filling it with peace and wanderings.
