Hold Me.

Take me to my home.

Home is where my heart is.

Home’s on that windy hill.

Above a secret valley.

Hovering, a heavenly cloud.

Take me to my home.

I’m waiting here alone.

All packed ready to go.

Vacating this old place.

Leaving this world behind.

Take me to my home.

The beyond will be greener.

I know you’ll be there.

You’ve been waiting so long.

I know you’ll hold me again.

Hold me in our home.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I’ve been listening to some music/songs of Irish singer, Kaz Hawkins over the last few days, and her music has comforted me during my writings., I’ll try and send you a YouTube Link.

    1. Thank you Sue, I was orginlly writing a poem about my quaint little courtyard, and got side tracked into revising and rewriting this old poem, which was called “Home” !! And yes I loved you personal song choice. xx… I’ve liked one for a while, the words seem appropiate for me.

    1. It’s a special poem for me, I actually wrote it as tribute poem for Leonard Cohen, on the day he died Nov 7th 2016, and tried to do the poem in his style of wording. And of course it’s a letter to my Carole as well. Thank you for your kind words.
