Tit Bits #2

The apple I ate today was pure white

did I do wrong, or was I right

to have the adulterated bite

knowing all eyes have imperfect insight

It’s a crying shame

that dreams aren’t the same

who’s to blame

for this loveless game

please give us some hope

so we may live to cope

The cracks are dark holes

chasms to the soul

leaking emotions of old

needing warmth from the cold

We all have our worth

here on mother earth.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh I love this poem Ivor, almost lends itself to a part two!
A white apple, not red, not pink nor forest green…

β€œWe all have our warmth here on mother earth!” What a wonderful line. Have a lovely holiday Ivor πŸ™‚

  2. You sure have your worth here on mother earth. It’s in your words, your poetry, your kindness to everyone and your gentle loving ways. Never doubt your worth my friend. β˜ΊπŸ’›

  3. I’m happy you liked my words, they’re a collection of 4 different poems that when I wrote them down together them seemed to blend into one another and that’s just shear coincidence. 😊 I’m off to the New Caledonian Islands tomorrow 😎
