Circumference

As far as the eye can see

an endless horizon surrounds me

encircling the dark blue ocean

waving to a pastel aqua sky

I turn to port-side

my tangent shadow follows

I walk to forward

my world is full, rippling white caps

I stand on aft

my view is an edgeless rim

a vast rolling sea

as far as the eye can see

Above is our universes dome

lingering clouds of chrome

casually floating by

sunshine appears to fly

changing the Pacific’s hue

cobalt to royal blue

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. The never ending vastness of the ocean fascinated me, and the colour of the sea were awesome. I got to photograph every day’s sunrise, “eleven shades of sunrises” and I’d walk 6 deck laps every morning (2.5km),the sea air felt so pure and cleansing

  1. oh this is awesome. Love how you hit each direction / side of the ship.

Thank you for taking me on a cruise and I didn’t even have to leave my desk!

Where was the cruise to? I assume you had a great time?!
