A Friend

do you have a friend

that’s bound in a cocoon

living on egg-shells

broken by sickly X-ray beams

their life’s virtual hell

and for whom you want to scream

unconditionally you’ve given your love

now they’re tired

for help from above

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Shefali, I’m not sure who the would are for, they were in my dreams last night, and the first 4 lines are basically the words from my subconscious I jot down at 2.30am 🤔

      1. Thank you ❤️ Shefali, I wonder at my own thoughts in my sleep, and I’ve developed this little knack of jotting them down while half asleep/half awake

      1. And talking about getting older, it’s 4.10am here and time for more beauty sleep for Ivor, always lovely to chat to you, and I’m sure to nod-off with pleasant thoughts in my jumbled head xxx
