Memories And Rhymes

My inner vacuum’s full

Of earth and sky

Laying in my void

I watch my universe pass on by

My lonely heart’s full

Of love and grace

Laying upon evening dew

I watch my star fly in space

My empty hands are full

Of memories and rhymes

Resting in my bed

I watch my dreams fall on lines

Hi, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm a retired, part-time plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for 9 months, and writing poems for nearly 18 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. 😊 Thanks Sue, I was trying to do some blogging, and comments on my reader this morning, and my mind kept wandering with all those little thoughts, so I wrote them down, and before I knew it, I’d written a little poem. 😊

      1. I love the way you do that Ivor. I write in my daily journal when my mind wanders. It helps when I’m feeling sad or miserable and occasionally these random thoughts in some form or other end up in a blog post.

  1. love your juxtaposition of being empty even when full. It is also vice versa Ivor, you are full because you empty yourself to receive life’s blessings. wishing you a lovely week ahead. do keep an eye on the postal service in the next couple of weeks ok!
