Quote #2, “Together We Can Help”

“Fellow Writers, We Have The Power, We Have A Voice, We Have A Pen, Collectively, We’re Able To Help, Help The Children Of The World, Stop Them Crying For Help.”

Together We Can Help

Let us all help

It’s Time

Time to have a say

Voice your feelings

Tell your stories

Use your pen

Speak from your soul

Talk about their little feet

Feel their mammas heartbeat

Give your all

Walk tall

We need to help

Children is my prompt

Lets do the stomp

It’s your call

One and all

Don’t let the children crawl

Save them before they fall

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor’s passion shines through this post. May the world’s leaders listen. Children are being abused in different ways all over the globe. There is no excuse for it, and still less when national administrations are the perpetrators

  2. Martin Luther King Jr. – “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Your voice through your beautiful poem speaks loudly. One small voice multiplied can shout and shatter the silence. Thank-you!

  3. This is so perfectly stated, Ivor. We all need to speak out truth… Desperately. Both for ourselves to express our emotions and tell our story, as well as for others to remind them that that we all have them (both of them) and to impart any lessons we have learned. We need each other… To quote one of my favorite organizations, “People Need Other People”.

  4. Your poem, the song, and the quote brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing this, Ivor! We can all help AND we should all help.
I will never understand why/how there are those who don’t care and their actions and words show it. 😦

      1. Yes it had to be. Oh these odd hours we share. I’m about to switch off for the night and the last time we spoke you were doing the same. Hope you got the e-mail, I guessed you’d want to see that one. 😊

      2. Oh I sympathise. We are in the middle of a wonderful heatwave. Just had the hottest June on record! Trouble is we’re not equipped for hot weather and no air conditioning as standard.

  5. Reblogged this on Autumn Leaves and commented:
Ivor has written a moving poem calling on writers to use their talents to encourage people to take care of children at risk. This seems a very important cause, and I invite everyone who reads this reblog of Ivor’s poem to reblog it in their turn.

It is a definite call to action time, with nothing to with nothing but the tender love and care each and every child BORN deserves.
So much is happening to these younger generations, the suicides, the overdoses, the left alones, the brokenhearted, the poison of vaccines and our earth, and of course, the utter mis-lead of social media.
It has taken me a bit of time to open up, however I do have some things to say.

    1. Yes, I know, it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I’ve been jolted into doing something, and everything we say is helping in some little way. The response to my little poem/plea has been huge, and I’m pleased I had a go, and touch hundreds of readers around the world, and that the message is being passed on and on 💛💛🌍
