Crashed

Do you see my mess

I do confess

I’m computerless

Do you know my address

I’m writing on slate

You’ll have to wait

My pigeon will be late

I’m using my old phone

Working fingers to the bone

Words are like stones

Without a home

Do you know the score

No music any more

I slam my studio door

Leaving pools of notes on the floor

Hi, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm a retired, part-time plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for 9 months, and writing poems for nearly 18 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Enjoy your music Ivor. No more music for me because right now it’s almost eleven fifteen pm here and after a busy day it’s my bedtime. Catch up tomorrow, goodnight Ivor 😴😴

  1. It’s amazing how helpless I am when my technology goes on the fritz. I seem to forget that I functioned just fine before we had any. I knew how to hold a pen in my hand, I knew how to get thoughts from brain to pen to paper, I knew how to insert pieces of paper into a typewriter, I seemed to survive without being able to get calls while I was grocery shopping, I didn’t need my fridge to tell me when we were out of milk or a gizmo to tell me how long I’d walked. Having said all that, I hope your computer’s up and running soon again.

  2. Oh, my! I hope everything is back to normal soon!
Yep, sometimes we must rely on the “old” ways to get by! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
I love how you got a poem out of your dilemma. I got a chuckle out of your pigeon being late. Your poems are always worth waiting on the pigeon to deliver…even a slow pigeon!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend plans, Ivor!
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚

    1. Yep it’s frustrating, maybe a few more days, I’m in Ballarat tonight with my sister, and using her computer, we’ve been to the opera in Melbourne to watch our April sing. She sang beautifully.
