An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Soul Mates And Stormy Seas
Three decades I cared for her
My loving wife
Tending to her sorrowful erosions
We sailed many stormy Seas together
Crashing waves upon crushing waves
She was battered
I was torn
Miraculously we survived
Our wounded hearts grew closer
I admired her courage and grace
I worshipped her unabated love
Then her finality occurred
Our souls have never parted
Entwined, the same as when we started
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Oh how this love is to be cherished. By the world.
Oh dear Stella, thank you β€οΈ, I felt she helped me write this one today π. I’m sorry I’ve not been to visit, this having no computer is difficult for me to catch up on my reader, actually it’s impossible ππxx I hope you’re keeping Ok. π
just love that last line Ivor, our souls never parted, entwined, the same as when we started, love so pure, so tender, familiar yet exotic. i feel the depth of your connection with this amazing woman.
Such a loving tribute to your soul mate .. how very special that you had a life together and she is no longer suffering but has left you with a store of wondrous memories π
Breathtaking, this poem is simply breathtakingly beautiful! Your love just flows through the words. Every time that I think you have reached your pinnacle, you climb even higher! Once again, you have bested your best. “When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.” – unknown. Your Angel is always with you. Thank-you!
What a beautiful tribute to love and especially to your love with your wife. It brought tears. She was blessed to have you and you were blessed to have her. π
She is in your heart! She is in your memories! She is with you in spirit! And she is smiling so big π to see how many people your words and poems help! π
HUGS!!! π
This brought tears to my eyes… What a lovely testament to the love you had with your wife. God Bless you. Plus, you are really turning me on to the Waterboys. π
