I’m reposting today, with this song “Spirit Bird”, by Xavier Rudd, and his lyrics are a pure statement from the heart, please read along with music, and cry with me, for our spirits and our land.

“Leaving us

Hollow ashamed”

Hungrily I’m eating a liquor chocolate

A selfish heavenly delight

Arousing my old minds senses

I wonder

What she would be thinking

Looking down from the stars

Through her sensitive olive eyes

Her everlasting smile

Her gracious courage

Her generous heart

Her forgiving soul

Her love for me and you

I wonder

What she would be thinking

Seeing these futile bloody wars

Through her compassionate olive eyes

The dead and maimed

The millions of shuffling homeless

The distraught broken families

The crying children locked in sheds

The desperate refugees with no beds

I wonder

What she would be thinking

While she preciously holds the last white dove

Observing these senseless wars

That never never end

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I’m afraid us humans(adults) have a lot to answer for, but most of the time it comes down to greed(money and more money) and selfishness, and of course that feeds the basic ingredients for corruption,…… Oh shit, sorry, I don’t mean to preach, you already know 🙄… Cheers, Ivor 🌏 xx

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting, and indeed the greed in our world seems to be insatiable. We shall battle on and do our best, we are the writers and we have a say, with the power of our pens. 😊 Oh, sorry, I do get carried away….. Cheers, Ivor 🌏 🌍🌎😊

Thank you Paul, I’m not sure my words worked properly, but we all sit around within our own high ideals eating the chocolates of life, and watch, and watch, and watch, wars, wars, wars, like war is just a TV show. humans have lost themselves in their unreal digital world, and become just like the old idiot square box……
