Street Art, The Other Half

In response to Weekly Prompt; Photo Prompt, The Other Half (I went to a different half), and also, in response to CalmKate’s Friday Foto Fun, the prompt,Β  Art

The featured Image above, was after I’d walk around the city centre of Geelong taking all of these photos,.. I had to have refreshments, and the best place seemed to be Pistol Pete’s Blues Bar, with loud music, tasty food and a cold beer or two.

For those followers of Australian Rock Music, the above mural is of Chrissy Amphlett,Β  she was a Geelong girl, and lead singer of the Divinyls, one of our great bands during the 1980’s and 1990’s

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Very attractive and creative murals. I love how colorful they are.

You don’t see many murals here, but you do see a lot of public sculpture these days. About 15 or so years ago, the city began buying pieces to install along the streets. Mostly abstract, but a few less so. None entirely representational.
