Lines To Nowhere

My curtains were opened

I saw a setting eclipse

And I decided to walk

To the south side of the moon

Taking my own spoon

I heard there’s a cheese-cake tasting

A sweet crumbly base

Topped with blueberries and cream

Life’s not about lying in bed

I’ll meet you for a kiss

After school

Down by the old pool

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Ivor, your poem is lovely. All your poems are really wonderful. I run out of comments because I’ve said it all before. You are such a great poet.
You know I love you to bits, so massive hugs and kisses are sent to you. plus… check your e-mail.
My bedtime now, but as it’s your day I’m hoping you’ll have plenty going on around you. Night night from me xxx

  1. love the old world charm of this poem Ivor, only you can do this, make me nostalgic for the era of courtship and stolen kisses. I hope the poem you write has cheered you up as much as it has me today.

  2. Going for a munch of cheese on the moon sounds wonderful! Dream it, Ivor. It must have magical healthgiving properties – ‘cos, the moon. Hugs and blessings x

  3. OH! This is one of your best poems ever! It is so sweet! It has vivid word-pics! It has good emotions! It brings joy and smiles and memories…such warmth on this cold night. 🙂
There you are…so ill and in bed 😦 …and you are making all of us feel better! 🙂 Thank you, Ivor! 🙂
I know hearing “rest now” a million times…and having to stay in bed…can be so boring and tiring. Ugh. But, do what ya’ gotta’ do to get well! 🙂
That photo is amazing! I almost get dizzy looking at it! Ha! 😀 It reminds me of when I visited the giant redwood trees. Know what? I even hugged a few trees! 🙂
    HUGS for you, too!!! 🙂
