Odds And Ends, Spots And Blots

Lazy Bones

Cordless phones

Garden gnomes

Overhead drones

Windowless homes

Creaks and moans

Lazy bones

Pain is like the rain

It comes and goes

Heavy and light

A Lie

It’s a lie that I don’t cry

It’s a lie that I passed you by

It’s a lie that I never tried

It’s a lie that I’ll never die

Mirror, mirror, on the wall

You showed me how to stand tall

Again, it’s time for your call ………

I’m neither a judge

Nor a dealer in sludge

I’d rather eat some fudge

And give my-side of this life a nudge…….

Even Though

Love is all above thee

Love is a blanket of autumn leaves

Love shower’s us with glee

Love is everywhere, to feel and see

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes I’m tired, it’s a catch 22, i need to build up my strength, but I’m not allowed to do anything.
….. I just have to be patient, sit tight, and go through the process of more tests and procedures.

      1. I can understand that, Ivor. My hb is currently in Bne with his brothers keeping vigil at his mother’s bedside. Dr gave her 48 hrs to live 6 days ago. They too are tired. Take care of you x

  1. There are days when we crave 24 hours with nothing to do but pamper ourselves but, when it’s enforced, it seems infinitely less pleasant. Loved these odds and ends especially pain being like the rain – so true! Take care of yourself my friend, some day soon all the crappy feelings you have now will just be a memory. Hugs xx

      1. No not betterer, I’m back in hospital, I’ve had a minor stroke, a limpy leg, and unbalanced. Feeling reasonable, but I’ve been told I’ll be til at a week 🤔☺️. I’m afraid it’s all part of the problems over the month 😊

  2. I love the way you translate your feelings. I’m sorry you’re having a down day, not nice is it? A brighter day is just around the corner and you will find yourself feeling better. Now there’s a new title for you… Just around the corner! 🙂

    1. Oh Gina, it’s lovely to hear from you, I’m afraid I’m back in hospital, I’ve had a minor stroke, so here I am undergoing more tests, and all my problems are tied in together, find the source of my problems is the problem 😅 😉 💛
