Send Me Violets

Not feeling light and breezy

“Life wasn’t meant to be easy”

Said that man

With the silver spoon

In his mouth

I’m lying here pointing south

Back in the old boat

Doing another stroke

Without an oar

I can still see, nearby shore

I’m sure, there’s more

Before I’m shown the door

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that Ivor. I don’t know what to say. I hope that they sort you out so that you’re home in time for Christmas. Big hugs coming your way xxx

  1. ouch not sounding too good but I am glad you are there …. please what is the name of this flower on your post?
Mentioned them to someone and I’ve had a blank with the name … and my description didn’t ring any bells, then you post them!

      1. Feeling reasonable 😊, but probably a bit depressed, and frustrated, if only they could find out what’s causing my problems. Yes the hanging basket is so special, hanging up in my fernery πŸ’›πŸ˜Š

  4. I am sorry about the stroke, Ivor. Tell the nurses, your blogger friends have asked them to take good care of you. Enjoy your showers with the nurses ❀️ and continue with your whiteboard verses. Don’t get frustrated, somethings are beyond our control. Take care. πŸ€—
