Tullawalla: Published Poems

Hello dear readers, Happy Christmas and Merry New Year. I’ve just finished typing up a collection of my published poems, which I’ve done for Christmas gifts for my family and friends, there seems to have been 23 of them. It was a lot of poems to present here in one folder, but really not a great amount to have published, probably represents my laziness and aversion to print up my poems for submissions. Maybe after I recover from my illness and stroke, I will make more of an effort this new year, to submit poems for publication. Have a glorious festive season everyone, and please enjoy the music.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I have just come back from a Christmas weekend (extended) with family and friends. I am going through my reader and catching up on all the wonderful posts in my absence, and when I have posted myself I’m turning on some airy fairy music and read your poems. I am so proud of you. Really.

  2. A stroke is hard to come back from physically. Had a mini in 2003 and a dear friend two majors. We are currently working on his autobiography and he has to take it slow. Might take another ten years but we’ll get there. I’m so glad you are continuing to fan the fires of your creativity Ivor. Tiny steps get you there but it’s a long road. So why not crank up the music ♪ and make the place beautiful ☼ on the way right? (= With you all the way. *hugs* ♥.

      1. If I could send you a hug,
        wrapped in a wish,
        tied with healing thoughts,
        I would.

Then I’d make you some soup,
a cup of tea, and mail those —
        wait, do you think
        I could?

Well it might be worth a shot.
Let’s try it and see how
        it goes.

        *concentrates very hard*
        Did it work? No? Darn!
        This homemade teleporter
        blows.

(Weirdly the package is gone! So maybe someone in Greece got it, or someone on the North Pole or…hmm. Mars? o.O?)

        ♥.
