A Traditional New Year, From Geelong

Traditionally every year here in Geelong, the City Council sends out to every house-hold, a Calendar and information booklet. The twelve pictures in the Calendar, are of the local area, taken by local photographers, and the music I’ve added below, is by local performer, Xavier Rudd. Thank you to Weekly Photo Prompts, for this opportunity to present these glorious photos of the Geelong area. Happy New Year to all my readers. And the Calendar itself is a great >> Tradition

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Fabulous pictures Ivor. I like the `December one and the fireworks?

January 1st 2019 for you but for me it’s almost 10:00 PM on New Year’s Eve. I’ve been the taxi driver tonight, but thankfully my stint is over and now I’m shattered, no celebrating for me just a much wanted early night!
    Happy New Year Ivor xx🙂

  2. wow magnificent shots Ivor … I lived there for about a week or ten days and quite liked the place … just the share house was not what they claimed … moved back to Adelaide super quick at a huge cost in many ways 🙂
