G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

What a delightful day Ivor, you are getting there slowly but surely … any more results or has your brain stopped making …. farts 🙂
I won’t know until next MRI on the 31st Jan, hopefully with a wave of the wand everything will be alright. It was a long walk for me today, I was happy the result, and still did my 2 x 10min Yorkie pedals, plus 2 lots of exercises….. but my bedtimes are early, so blogging is missing out xx
Thank you for taking us along on your walk, Ivor! Through your poem and your photos! Beautiful! (I enjoyed reading this poem out loud!) 🙂
OH…and I’m so glad you got out and about! 🙂
Great Mr Cohen shirt! 🙂
And a fav song by X. Rudd! 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

Oh, that’s the sort of delightful day it was, and I wrote the poem in the cafe, the owner took my picture, and I gave him one of my poetry booklets

I bet, our bodies have resilience. When we’re sick, it can feel as if we’ll never get better, but in most cases, we do.

Agreed. Our minds as well. The key is perseverance. I can’t count the number of times I’ve wanted to believe the best thing to do is give up.

Oh yes, there’s always those thoughts of giving up, and it’s good those around you, supporting you

Yes. A good support system is important for moments like that.

Good see you enjoy the walk too, although I could’ve done with a helping hand towards the end. Maybe you could’ve carried my backpack for me 😎🤗🌞

OH! I definitely would have carried your backpack for you! 🙂 I would have been honored! 🙂

It’s always got some of my poem booklets in it, and along with a few groceries the backpack always ends up a bit heavier than it should. 🙄🍎🍌🧀🍦
