Wall of Thorns

My bed of roses

Is scaling a wall of thorns

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. the best writers are introverts because their words are so expressive – this was one of my favourites, i am no expert but it sits well with my heart – that’s all that matters when reading a poem – well done Ivor!

  1. Heartfelt haiku, Ivor! I can feel, AND relate to, the daily challenge, fight, and pushing-forward just hoping to get to enjoy the roses. Keep climbing, Ivor! 🙂

    How are you doing?
Did you get any results yet?

PS…it wouldn’t let me watch the vid…but I can find it on youtube! 🙂

    1. Not a good result Carolyn, I suffered another minor stroke that I didn’t feel, sometime during the last few weeks., the wall is growing higher….and the thorns are becoming sharper, and the rose-bed feels harder…. ((Hugs))

      1. Oh, no! 😦
I’m so very sorry to hear this, Ivor! 😦
Please know that you are cared about, prayed for, wished well. I want so badly for you to be well and to be able to enjoy roses! I wish I could do away with the wall, and eliminate the thorns, too.

It’s another challenge for me, and my rehab support group are being fabulous
I’m still feeling devastated, I’ve lots to ponder on the weekend, I’m back in hospital, Monday or Tuesday, hopefully only a day or two, for a lumber puncture…..xxx
