G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Your verse soars like the kite, Ivor. Nice song too.
It’ll be your spring when I get to New York.. No haven’t packed a thing yet !!. I was in hospital for another 3 days ,, 10 days ago… but I checked out ok, I’m well but not as fit as wanted to be, a few extra setbacks has slowed me down. Thank you Calen, and I’m glad you like My Kite xx
That’s great, Ivor. I was reading it from my angle and the angle of some of my peers who are feeling the call of freedom by escaping troubles here and going to their Heavenly rest. I guess I’ve been attending too many funerals. You are young and have time to fly freely right here loosed from your sickness. π
I’ve always loved kites! And your kite photo, poem and song encourage me to fly free and high in the bright blue sky! π
Keep flyin’, Ivor! You have a lot of “sky” to explore and adventure-in! π
HUGSS!!! π

Oh Oneta, The poem is about me gradually getting better, and recovering from my strokes and finally being able to fly free of my sickness. βοΈ

I used to fly one at Mum’s all the time and you reminded me it’s missing … she is more frail now so can’t walk along the beach with me as I fly it!
