A Walk, A Coffee, And Alone

A Walk, A Coffee, And Alone

Little Cyndi has gone home

Here I am, again alone

The house is strangely quiet

I feel coffee and cake is on the diet

Late afternoon, and I’ll go for a walk

To my favourite cafe, where the magpies squawk

A stroll in the winter sun

And remember, I am not the only one

Reflect on life’s good times

And rekindle, my memories and rhymes

Above: Cyndi, yes it’s going home time……

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Aw, Cyndi leaves a huge hole in your life when she has to leave again. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ When Cooper has to go to the vet for blood-testing, or to the groomer to get his nails done and his hair did (Ha!), it’s just for a few hours, but life is too lonely and quiet without him.
Beautiful photos, sweet-emotion-filled poem, wonderful song!
So many people are with you in spirit and in heart, Ivor, so you are not completely alone. ๐Ÿ™‚ And you have the sun and clouds in the day, and the moon and stars at night! ๐Ÿ™‚
    HUGS!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
PS…what kind of cake did you have?!?!?!

    1. The cake was a Lemon, Almond and Brandy Cake… yummy…!! I’m ok, but the quietness is deafening, so I’ve turned my music up, and I’m listening Lisa Hannigan playing this cute song from the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, such a sweet Irish girl
