Summer in full bloom

Beds of petals for our hearts

Life’s fragrant adieu

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. It’s wonderful to reach that summer of our lives, when we’re at our peak in every way, like those magnificent blooms. If only we could hold onto it. Like the flowers, our petals fade too. But we always remember the warm glow of those summers. Beautifully expressed, Ivor. Lovely, bright photos too! 😍

      1. Aww, I’m so glad I managed to understand your words, Ivor. I think maybe sometimes you get to a certain age & experience things that, although not the same, they have parallel effects/meanings, that ring true & mean things to the reader, they can identify with. 😊 xx
