Clowns And Geeks On The Exit Bus

The car is garaged, left without a driver

I’m pedalling Yorkie, like a morning biker

Then catching the exit bus, and going down-town

Limping around, like an old clown

Lugging my back-pack, from bus to shops

And plumbing jobs are stuck on stop

My purse strings, hold only tattered seams

Dreams of travel, have run out of steam

Just a writer geek, at his computer desk

Unshaven, winter hibernating, feeling grotesque

Here waiting for spring, to thaw my paws

And to keep warming up the exit doors

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. It sounds like theyโ€™re covering all angles to make sure youโ€™re going the right way, Ivor. Itโ€™s good to hear youโ€™re feeling ok, despite the concern. Hopefully, youโ€™ll soon be geeking out & about, as well as at home, ๐Ÿ˜ take care! xx

  1. How is the further med-testing going?
You’re still in my thoughts and prayers.
I understand frustration related to med-tests and waiting for results, I’m in the midst of that myself. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ (I blogged on Monday about the latest news on my med-test mixup and such.)
Warmer temps will SPRING soon, Ivor! Until then, let warmth and joy fill your heart! ๐Ÿ™‚ And keep expressing yourself through your poems!
