Annoying Mind Games (Again)

Hi dear readers , below is a poem from two years ago, one that I really didn’t want to post again, but sadly, here the story is, on repeat again…………

Here I am in bed now, with a sharp raging headache(again). Iā€™m not well, my occipital neuralgia has flared up (again) . All I can do is rest, so Iā€™ll be lying low for a few days (or more). I’m beginning my treatment on Tuesday, physiotherapy and acupuncture, which in the end gives me some manageable relief. The whole process can take up to 4 weeks,…. Yeah… I should be ok for Christmas……. Hope you all have a good weekend

Mind Games (Again)

Thereā€™s a sharp pain

Inside my brain

Harpooning my eye

More than Ouch, I cry

So hard to write

Blurry is my sight

All I do is peep

And I must rest and sleep

Iā€™ve not lost the knack

And I shall be backā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.

Hopefully soon

Before they play my tune

Occipital neuralgiaĀ is a distinct type of headache characterised by piercing, throbbing, or electric-shock-like chronic pain in the upper neck, back of the head, and behind the ears, usually on one side of the head. Typically, the pain ofĀ occipital neuralgiaĀ begins in the neck and then spreads upwards.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Sad to hear this Ivor sending you healing to combat this. I used to get this regularly. I found when there is high negative surges these occur. The pain goes to the weakest area in the body to create the most discomfort. When you are feeling better try to look for the root cause of this and release it. Also ask God/Divine what steps you should take to heal this. Bless you Ivor and sending you much healing NOW.

  2. I’m crying. šŸ˜¦ This makes me so sad, Ivor! I’m so sorry you are in such pain! šŸ˜¦
PLEASE rest! Maybe some soft gentle music, a cool room….and whatever else helps.
I rarely get head pain, but I know it must be the worst.
I get pain in other parts of my body, so I know pain and know it’s no fun. šŸ˜¦
Coop and I send you gentle (((HUGS))), and thoughts and prayers for healing.
We’ll check back soon to see how you are feeling.
    (((HUGS)))
