G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So true Ivor the animal kingdom do not needs us we need them. We destroy their favourite areas for food and drink. We poison it for them and us but do we care, no, not at all.
Brilliant, important, poignant message! It comes across powerfully and clear, Ivor!
Thank you for caring about all of creation….nature, animals, birds, etc., and working to get this vital message out…to make aware, to educate, etc. 🙂
Sadly, as human-beans “take ourselves down”, we take down all of creation. 😦
Especially sad when I think about how much joy we get from animals, birds, trees, flowers, the sky, the air, ETC!
(((HUGS)))
Oh, I was laying on my bed resting, feeling a bit sorry for myself, then it hit me like a ton of bricks….. we have fellow species on this planet that are already extinct because of us stupid, greedy human’s……. so a mere headache means nothing…. although if I lay around long enough, I’m sure at our present rate of self destruction of our planet….. I won’t have to worry too much about my headache anymore……… !!!! ((Hugs))
Sometimes it’s in the quietest moments…even in moments of pain…that we find the greatest wisdom.
I love the connection you made to the planet and those species that are extinct. They are forgotten and we need reminding before other dear precious species leave the earth. 😦
It’s okay to feel sorry for yourself and deal with those emotions. But, you are right…putting our minds on something important, or on someone else helps us. 🙂

Yes Nanette, and I’m pleased my poem was strong enough to convey that message. But I’m afraid that people’s greed will continue to prevail …. 🌏😕🤔

I often think the earth would be far better off without our race, unfortunately.
