Purple and Mauve

Purple and Mauve

As my evening courtyard garden glows

Old flowers cast purple and mauve shadows

Upon the muse of my dreams

Against a background, once leafy green

Hanging there, a mauve fairy lavender

Above an ageing purple avatar

Looking like that flowering woody sage tree

Petals of purple and mauve, waiting to be free

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. your garden is the perfect place to contemplate life Ivor, love how you have placed all your favourite flowers and decorations and may I mention the herbs too, those were such beauties. I am smiling that I had the privilege to actually be in this glorious little space!

      1. I know the ones that are from your parents garden, Carol’s fave flowers and how much effort you put in nurturing them.
