Two Thousand and Twenty

Two Thousand and Twenty: A Dual Haiku

Last year’s sins are gone

New year eerily hovers

Could be right or wrong

The bells toll louder

Perennially we jeer

Is there an answer

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes, we all need to change our priorities, and restart /refresh our relationship with our planet, our mother earth, and rethink about the future, rather than continue on this greedy path of self destruction/suicide. 🌏🌏🌏🌏💙💙

  1. Great haiku for the going out of the old year and the coming in of the new year.
An important time for reflection…and a time to commit to continue to do what helps others AND our planet!

I see the new year as a new blank-paged book for us to write down words, tell our stories, express our feelings, ask our questions, etc…all of these will create wonderful chapters. Oh, Ivor, may your new year/book be filled with love, laughter, peace, joy, good health, and many more poems! 🙂

    HUGS!!! 🙂

    1. More HUGS back to you, I should be losing weight with all these hugs… I’m not sure about my writings for next. I’ve a feeling that I’m going ok, and not to to over stress myself, as I tend to throw myself into my writings without stepping back to have a rest, so that’ll be one of my resolutions, to take more breaks away from studio….. It’s 6.00pm new year’s eve here already…. I’ve nothing planned for the evening, so I’ll be staying home… 💙✨✨🌏
