Sun Showers

Hello, you taste so sweet

These angelic drops of rain

Landing on my freckled cheeks

Refreshing my dry skin

Instead of yesterday’s

Annoying and staining spots

Full of dirt and smoke

Stinging my teary eyes

Finally today, a cooling breeze

Clearing our hazy sky

And here comes the sun

Minus her dusty halo of grey

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Your wonderful poem conveys hope, relief, and joy, Ivor!
Hope and pray more rain is on the way soon! Also, clear skies (no smoke) and a bright (not hazy) sun!

    1. I’m so pleased you Xavier Rudd’s song, I’ve been to him live a few times, his performances are like his, emotional and inspiring…. He sings a lot about our environment, πŸŒΏπŸŒπŸ’™((hugs))

    1. It’s a joy to have some rain…. It hadn’t rained since you were here ??…and the beautiful beaches were covered in hazy smoke for the last few weeks……Down here we are all smiling again …. xx
