G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thanks Mark, my cousin has quite a talent for painting, something he has taken up in his retirement years, he’s 79 now, and enjoys his newfound creative side…. He’s also written 2 novels… Wow ππ
Your soul is beautiful, Ivor! It shines through in everything you do!
A person’s soul is what matters most. And then it lives on, beyond our bodies. π
OH! Your cousin Brian’s painting is wonderful! It reminds me of some old buildings I’ve visited in The West! π
That song always touches my heart and brings the tears. “You see all I need’s a whisper in a world that only shouts.”
(((HUGS)))
PS…Thanks for your comments on my latest post! I responded to them…so come read them! π
I inherited Carole’s beautiful soul, she had the compassion of an angel…
I’ll tell cuz Brian what you said, it’s a hobby he’s taken up in his retirement…. And he’s also written 2 novels., he’s my oldest cuz, 79, 10 years older..
Yes the Passenger song was perfect for my poem..
I’ll go over and have another look. πππΏ
Ah this is how I see my soul, thank you and the painting very beautiful too. The song I like he cannot hear the words in whispers as the world only shouts.
Thank you again Nanette, it’s very kind of you to be reading and commenting on these recent poems… Sometimes I amaze myself at how productive my soul can be, because my works are not superficial, but from deep within me.. ππππ
All creativity which comes from the Soul has a special energy. I find I write everything in a few minutes more time is spent on finding a photo and then spell check as this seems to go out the window.
Great poem and painting, Ivor.

I write the same way everything is from within my soul. I have not read about it.

That’s truly wonderful Nanette. Classically and technically, I am not a very good writer, but I have a grasp of the emotions within my soul..
