G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

It was just a little dream, but when I wrote it this morning, I deliberately didn’t use the word “the”, and I surprised myself, with how much emotion I was able to impart, in so few words….

It happened by accident, when I was writing the poem, I didn’t have “the” in the first 5 lines, and then it occurred to me, to keep it going… then I was struggle for a title, funnily enough, the poem is 19 lines, hence “Nineteen Steps”…

Thank you Sue, I’ve had a late night out, and I’ve not spotted your Weekly Prompt… What is it?.. 12.45am here, I’ve lost both glass slippers, and the Taxi looked like a pumpkin… 😴😴😴

Well, Cinderella, the prompt is ‘The Bridge’.
You are not supposed to lose both slippers! And you know what happens next don’t you, A handsome prince will come knocking at your door! 😂

Thank you Laura…. It was just a little dream…. then I surprised myself with the wording….. I wrote the poem without using the word “the”….. and the poem ended up quite emotional…. the song is one Leonard Cohen’s most emotional one’s,….. my photo was last night’s sunset….
