The Cracks Are Muddy

This weekend’s Weekly Prompt challenge is: ‘Celebration‘. Well here in Geelong, Victoria, we’re celebrating the fabulous downpour of much needed rain, from yesterday and last night. Please go over and visit the fabulous “Weekly Prompts” site by clicking >>HERE

The Cracks Are Muddy

The storm clouds are weeping

And I’m loudly smiling

The sky’s tears are heavy and fat

And I’m cheerily eyeing the muddy crack

That dry chasm’s filling fast

And I’m hoping the deluge will last

Drowning the ground, day into night

As I dance under Thor’s neon lights

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. That was a wonderful celebration. I can imagine how happy you are to have the waters flooding back.

Here in Yorkshire we are at the start of Storm Dennis and for the second weekend in a row we are expecting more flooding. The ground is soaked and the water has no where to go. Here at home we’ve only just got the carpets dried out from last week.
Ivor, thank you for joining me once more 🙂
