G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Christine, It was both an exciting and emotional prompt for me, and I’m rapt with how my poem was able to connect with so many, within my shortish piece.
I’m so pleased that I was able to connect the mother/son relationship,… with son’s interpretation of the moon’s bright sky… As the saying goes “I think I nailed it” 😁💙🌏
absolutely! reminded me of when Joshua was younger and we watched a cartoon and he was asking me questions after, how a child’s mind works differently and how was I going to explain to allay his gears. so yes you nailed it! this one poem just flows like a river, gentle but making a mark along its way.
beautifully penned

It was a wonderful poem Ivor, and I think so many connected because the whole world was watching the horrific wildfires in Australia. What a tragedy 😢

reads like a prayer too Ivor, the mum trying to soothe the child, and the child trying to make sense of the world changing before his very eyes.
