A Moonless Sky Goes Sailing By

After your sixty five

There’s a time to live

And there’ll be a time to die

Who am I to tell a lie?

Under the moonless sky

That casts no shadow

Only a night crow

To sing for us

What’s the fuss?

We’re on the same bus

The dawn’s a plus

Without the virus

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Yes, you should. Right now I’m in bed and not to, switch off for the night, even though there, a ton of catch up to be done due to a very busy weekend. Goodnight, Ivor πŸ™‚

  1. A powerful poem, Ivor! We can all relate to your words and feelings.
So much going on in the world right now…especially COVID-19 related. 😦
Before bedtime I listen to music that makes me smile. πŸ™‚
HUGS and may you always greet the beautiful dawn with your beautiful smile! πŸ™‚

  2. Nick Cave… the most brilliant Australian. I have loved him since he made an appearance in the amazing film wings of desire and this song has always been a favorite… β€œand burn your bridges down!”

    Great poem, too!
