G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Patience is hard sometimes, but I have seen it save many lives. Sometimes being still is what we have to do to get through. Love this poem, Ivor. Please stay safe over there and be well. ππ
I am so glad to read you are as safe as you can be. This song is so appropriate for today and we definitely have no control over this thing. I won’t even get on the empty shelves in the stores…
As a pensioner, we were given shopping priority this morning, so I could I get supplies that weren’t previously available on the shelves…. so I’ll be ok for a few weeks…. Yeah
That’s pretty good! Here in the U.S. a few businesses have designated days for senior citizens to come in and get what they need, which is nice. There’s so many items out of stock, so it’s good to know they are looking out for people, especially the elderly.
Really feel the plea in this.. confinement is hard. I have to have my nature walks and gardening is helping me… its so hard when your health has been under threat before Ivor.. sending you a big hug.. β€
Thank you Deb for your thoughtfulness….. yes I have to be extra careful…… although I’ve recovered well, I’m not physically or mentally very strong….. but I went for another good walk this afternoon…. and I love my gardening too… xx ((Hugs))
Yes, are we subconsciously stressing. I’m not sure. I do my exercises, a bike pedal, a walk everyday…. But I feel different, it’s hard to explain, lethargic, tired,… the atmosphere is heavy??…. I’m not sure what the right word is… maybe subconsciously anxious….. π€ .. π…
Ok that might be it…. I’m not a good sleeper, but with this tiredness, I’m sleeping more soundly and even sleeping in more… yes things are different. π€π
You know what it’s like to be grounded.
So I know you will fare well in this time of social distancing.
Stay safe and be well!
Enjoy your garden/patio, your photos, your writing, your blogging, etc!
And eat cake when you can! π
(((HUGS)))
Yes, the first weeks of lockdown. And I’m telling myself I’ve experienced isolation before……. but then I was in so much pain…. so without the pain I’ll easily survive again….. xx
Thatβs our motto nowadays. Be patient.
