G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Beautiful, Ivor. I like the picture and the video too.
Thank you Jez, I’m humbled by your kind and generous support to reblog my little poem on your fabulous site. It’s early Wednesday morning here, and you’ve made my backyard world turn into happy Universe 🌎🗺️🤗🌞
Thank you Rachel…we’re in lock down now, and us elderly are to stay at home…. only to go out for essential supplies… I’m coping well in my little universe… stay well…take care… 💙🌏
Time will tell Rachel… Here’s a special uplifting poem for you Rachel…… I’ve not posted It yet, maybe next week…. I think this is one of my good pieces….
“Blossom Over Jerusalem
I write about the purple moon
That eats the night with a silver spoon
I write about the yellow sun
That bathes our day with gold by the ton
I hear the bird’s morning songs
They caress the world’s souls, right or wrong
I hear the animals’ mighty roars
They remind us of the great outdoors
I see the blue sky above
Where life’s white doves carry our love
I see the green pastures, beyond Jerusalem
Where life’s fruit trees blush with blossom”
Ahh Ivor, that’s beautiful. Especially the last line. And the first lines too. A similar theme to the one you’ve just posted. I feel honored to get this sneak peak! Take care 💜
So beautiful. Your plants are so lush and pretty, and it looks like a lovely haven you have there. One piece reminded me of myself in the yard with the kids the other day. It was quite cool and yet I had the strongest urge to take off my boots and socks and just feel the earth and grass under my feet. I felt that connection to the earth and was over the moon I’d decided to look like a weirdo to my neighbors. And writing is always soothing and healing to me, so I understand that too. Well done!
Yes Rose !! that’s exactly it, our backyards contain a universe, to see, to hear and to feel.. … my neighbours cannot even see into my private courtyard……xx
Beautiful, Ivor. I like the picture and the video too.

But I see the universe in a blade of grass”
