An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
I’m Just A Boy
On Tuesday 12th, it was ‘World Limerick Day’, and to celebrate the day I wrote this Limerick….. I do enjoy writing Limericks, but I don’t usually post them on my site, so while I’m taking a rest from serious writings/poems, I thought I’d present this one today.
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

so cute! and ‘thongs’ have a different meaning in the states )
What a wonderful, fun limerick, Ivor!
And the photo of you as a boy…even more wonderful!
I imagine, like all of us, you are thinking, “My, how time flies!”
(((HUGS))) 🙂
Made me laugh those were the days when we wore thongs or barefoot not flip-flops running around in the sun in shorts and T Shirts. Life was so simple then. Perfect video choice.
I enjoyed the limerick, Ivor. Once in a while, we have to change it up a bit.
You sure did with this one. Nicely crafted. The photograph has a great deal of nostalgia in it. Cute – cute – cute face, with a smidgen of a smile, on the little boy.

We use to call flip flops “thongs” back in the 70 and 80’s when I was growing up. Lol I love the limerick. Is that a picture of you as a boy, Ivor?
