A Brick Wall Comes Alive

Over the last two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of observing a creative piece  of street-artwork evolving on a corner shop wall, at nearby the ‘Box Office Cafe’, where I like to enjoy a coffee and cake…  The wonderful painting, inspired me to write this little poem.

A Brick Wall Comes Alive

There, before my smiling eyes

An old brick wall comes alive

A colourful display, growing and flowing

There’s flowers and faces glowing

Within artistic creations of finesse

Upon every brush-strokes progress

The facade’s sharing her party dress

And she’s dancing in the streets to impress

Oh..  At Carolyn’s request, here’s pic’s of my coffee & cakes….

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Ivor, I always look forward to your posts, but you’ve surely outdone yourself this time! The poem is beautiful, the painted building couldn’t be cheerier, and the music is joyous and brings back memories. The cakes look delicious too, although I can’t eat them. I’ll just use them for eye candy! May the happiness you send out to others return to you each day. Cheryl
