My world feels strange and oddly out of shape

Stormy waves are crashing into the safety break

I’m balancing here upon a rocking pontoon

Floating on crying rivers falling from the moon

Cascading tears flowing down out of dark skies

Cyclonic clouds are the pandemics invisible guise

Weighty oppression’s pulling like extra lumps of gravity

And my pontoon’s drifting across this misty calamity

Spanning the Dead Sea’s low tide of modern times

Where my ancient quill’s only scrawling memories and rhymes

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Cheryl, these are definitely strange times, and my words are from last night’s dream, and very odd that I was out on a pontoon in the middle of the Dead Sea… 😀😎🌊🌏

  1. Your dreams and your poems are vivid and vibrant and heart-felt, Ivor!
This poem brought tears to my eyes. (especially with Mr. Rudd singing in the background.)
I have felt this way on some days, these days.
We must hold onto our beliefs (like all of the things Mr. Rudd sings about), and keep on keeping on! 🙂
    HUGS!!! 🙂

    1. Oh Carolyn, Xavier’s song is always so moving for me…. and I cry all the way through… and my poem.. it was last night’s dream….. I think the precis of my dream was reasonably accurate…. we are all suffering in the same way….. and we just have to tough it out…. despite our inner short comings.. ((hugs)) xx

      1. Truly fabulous!!!! I love this about you and your poetry! I have to add that mine is similar and I often wonder where on earth a poem came from when I wasn’t writing about such and such at all at the start! 🙃✍❤❤❤
