Over on Weekly Prompts the Wednesday challenge is; Green Thumb. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here. Today is my/our anniversary day and appropriately my poem for the prompt is called “Flowers”…..

can a dream be drowned

by a sinking crown?

weighted down by old flowers

and tiny violets of mysterious power

can a future be found?

above the ashes and ground

blown away by old flowers

as tiny violets cover a crumbling bell tower

can a fading light survive

beyond the gardens empty hive?

can time chime without old flowers

and tiny violets of magical power?

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Carolyn… I finished the day on a happy note.. with a 4-way computer on-line link-up with my Thursday night crew, they all knew and adore Carole, so we had a few toasts for her, and us… and I’m still smiling… 💙😀💚🍻
