This week over on Weekly Prompts, the Weekend challenge is; Oddities. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking on this link… >> >>https://weeklyprompts.com/2020/09/26/weekend-challenge-oddities/ . During the week I was live video-online chatting to my cousin from Bensalem, an outer suburb of Philadelphia, and “oddly” she was excitedly talking out her “Ladybug Farm Kit”, and how she going to be proud owner of newly born/hatched little ladybugs !!… She enthusiastically sent me photos of her new “little pets”. I’m smiling broadly to myself, and I told her “your quaint little oddity, has inspired me write an odd little poem about the ladybugs”….
A Ladybug Flies in From Bensalem
A scarlet caped ladybug
Lands on my sleeve and gently shrugs
Resting there, snug as a bug on a rug
And honouring me with love and soft hugs
Nature’s tiniest of goddesses
Who fans us with butterfly kisses
Quietly sharing good fortune and best wishes
Then silently flittering away to the next Hibiscus
Ivor Steven (c) Sept 2020
that’s such a cute poem about such a cute subject )

Very true, and thinking positively, as a rule, the good days far outweigh the bad ones and I’m sure normal service will soon be resumed.🙂

Thanks Dwight.. yeah for the ‘superbugs’ of the garden, nature’s natural pest destroyers …the song from Poets of the Fall is a lovely song and the lyrics are superb…
Poets Of The Fall Lyrics
“Sleep”
Hear your heartbeat
Beat a frantic pace
And it’s not even seven AM
You’re feeling the rush of anguish settling
You cannot help showing them in
Hurry up then
Or you’ll fall behind and
They will take control of you
And you need to heal the hurt behind your eyes
Fickle words crowding your mind
So
Sleep, sugar, let your dreams flood in
Like waves of sweet fire, you’re safe within
Sleep, sweetie, let your floods come rushing in
And carry you over to a new morning
Try as you might
You try to give it up
Seems to be holding on fast
It’s hand in your hand
A shadow over you
A beggar for soul in your face
Still it don’t matter if you won’t listen
If you won’t let them follow you
You just need to heal
Make good all your lies
Move on and don’t look behind
So
Sleep, sugar, let your dreams flood in
Like waves of sweet fire, you’re safe within
Sleep, sweetie, let your floods come rushing in
And carry you over to a new morning
Day after day
Fickle visions messing with your head
Fickle, vicious
Sleeping in your bed
Messing with your head
Fickle visions
Fickle, vicious
Sleep, sugar, let your dreams flood in
Like waves of sweet fire, you’re safe within
Sleep, sweetie, let your floods come rushing in
And carry you over to a new morning
