Time on the Moon With a Tea and Lime

Time on the Moon With a Tea and Lime

now and then

I see the sunrise again

sip on tea and lime

and dream for a time

where are you old friend

hiding your face until the end

and I hear a distant tick-tock

buried under weathered rock

when it’s all said and done

my words fall one by one

inking blues, line after line

and I care not the time

and sand flows drop by drop

from the timeless clock

touching her silent cocoon

on the far side of the moon

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Gael, I’m going ok, except I’ve in little Tick-tock problem…. and how are you, has the fire situation settled down… πŸ˜€πŸ’™πŸŒ

      1. Our cabin and the enclave that it is in was somehow saved. The fire is still going but in backcountry. Recent high winds are scaring the hell out of everyone. But no new fires today. Cross your fingers.

Great poem Ivor. You are right when writing time becomes secondary!
