Love lives on and on

In the tune of every birdsong

And friendships warm the soul

Like the sun warms our body



Love lives on and on

Memories and rhymes remain strong

Love is within our heart

Love is there to be shared

Like the blood in our veins

Love is made for transfusions



Love has been there all along

Love advances right over wrong

Love lives within our sins

Love lives within everything

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I have a lot of catching up to do. My husband had surgery for pancreatic surgery so we’ve had a rather dramatic few months. But I really wanted to read a few poets I miss, and to just say hi! I’m glad if you’re okay? It’s good to read you again 🌸💖

      3. Thanks Ivor. He had radical surgery but is recovering really well. He needs to have some pretty hard core chemo though, as there’s a high chance it could return in a year. Pancreatic cancer is so aggressive. We’re just so grateful he had the surgery in time, even if it’s just for a few extra years. The chemo gives him a 50% chance of cure apparently.

      4. Thank you Vanessa, ha-ha a product of the Covid lockdown months… I always wanted to write a book of my poems, and this seemed to perfect incentive to achieve my dream. 🌏💙
