Proudly the Music Plays

The inauguration was an awesome event, and here in Australia I could sense the importance of this day, and here is my little tribute to the occasion…

Proudly the Music Plays

The grand day was but a windfall

Of upstanding pyramids in time

And I, a tiny cog in the world’s clock

Was proud to have my feet back on this rock

Where I could hear the sounds of nature

Playing a harmonious tune about the future

And her music became the ink in my quill

Floating upon every solemn word I did spill

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Great poem Ivor. I love the upstanding pyramids in time…
A great metaphor for both the capital and Biden!
…and as the song says after this round we will never be the same.
Also a great double metaphor for Covid-19!

    1. Thank you Dwight, I appreciate your wonderful comments, and it was truly an inspiring ‘Inauguration’, and hopefully I captured the essence of being a overseas observer. 🌏😊
