Snow Dance

I am yet to go polar dancing

In that world of silent snow

I do wonder about a cold romance

In nature’s crystallized castle, all aglow

Between icy sheets under a frozen trance

Dreaming beyond life’s white flaky undertow

I do wonder about my silent dance

Tip toeing across tomorrow’s ice-flow

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I think this poem and my poem about snow should start a “cold romance”! 😁 And that video is amazing! You have such vast and eclectic tastes in music – you always seem to find the right song/video to fit the mood of your poetry.

    1. Thank you Irma.. and yes, I enjoy my music searches for a suitable song….I found this one for your poem and it’s sublimely beautiful… I was writing my poem about a romance in the snow, because my parents had their honeymoon in the snow…. and this piece of sensational music and scenery was perfect for my poem too!!

  2. Beautiful, emotion filled poem, photo, and song, Ivor!
I say dance in the snow while the snow dances down! 🙂
Right now it’s 21 degrees Fahrenheit outside…6 inches of snow…and the snow is still falling. Supposed to snow for the next 12+ hours. I love the snow!
Your words always bring warm! Thank you! 🙂

  3. Although I do adore the crystal sparkles of snow and its sister ice, I do daydream about warm evenings with a fire or a fine glass of wine, listening to life in the woods and fields. Until then, let’s both find a snuggly blanket and watch the array from inside, shall we?
