WHO HEARS ME

My ears are funnels
But I do not want to hear
The voices

My lips do part
But I do not speak
The words

My knees do bend
But I cannot sit
While I can still stand

My eyes are open
But I do not want to see
My shadow falling

Today here is another poem, that didn’t make the final list, and was ‘cut’ from my new Book “Tullawalla”… Maybe I thought the poem “Five Shades of Grey” was not substantial enough .. !!

Five Shades of Grey

Daylight turns into night

Ravens scatter in mid-flight

Dark clouds overlay

Five shades of grey

Thor’s hammer roars

His spark of fire, soars

Fiercely a flaming bolt strike’s

Piercing frightened psyches

Leaning Against the Wind

You have to be skillfully quick

To catch sight of the wily wind

Gone, in the flicker of a candle wick

The wind is here and gone in the blink of an eye

A crafter blaster, invisible and streamlined

We stoically lean against the air’s ghostly tricks

And blindly await the haunting to be reassigned

The wind is here and gone in the blink of an eye

Heart Beats. Anthology of Poetry

Announcing: Heart Beats Anthology of Poetry  Coming Soon

Welcome

Designed for Poetry and Poets

Prolific Pulse Press LLC is an author-friendly Publisher. We are passionate about helping writers from all walks of life reach their creative dreams and achieve literary success.

Thank you to Lisa Tomey, of ‘Prolific Pulse’ for publishing this wonderful anthology of love and happiness, and I am thrilled to have 3 of my poems included in the “Heart Beats” anthology, … Clear Blue Jar (above photo), Downhill Run, and, A Festival

Heart Beats is an anthology of poetry about the various aspects of what makes us tick or makes a heart-beat. This is about love, life, happiness, anything that makes life more joyful or tolerable.

Let’s face it. These are tough times and there have been many events in 2020 which have many of us shaking our heads. People who were once friends have gone their separate ways. Some are soul searching, examining life more closely as time has leant more for this.

Heart Beats is about working through and maybe even overcoming these challenges. It is about what brings smiles to our faces or, at least, in our hearts. Heart Beats is about life, ups and down and in-betweens and how different points of view merge into one beautiful collection of poetic works.

Inviting poets from the world to participate, made this project even more meaningful. We are a world of people and the poetry community has become more culturally diverse. This is largely due to the pandemic as people are interacting virtually more than before.” – Lisa Tomey

Roller Blades

My downhill roll has begun

I am slowly drifting away from the sun

There is no one around to ring the bell

To signify this old fighter needs a spell

My corner is about to throw the towel in

As my leftover blood turns the colour of sin

I hope my life has not been in vain

After traversing those decades of pain

As now I am able to bath in the soothing rain

Cleansing myself before I float on Noah’s Ark again

Storms of White Rust

I often wonder and ponder

About the truthfulness of our future

Will the changing winds

Of tomorrow stay kind

Will the narrowing tunnel of light

Fade over time and fall out of sight

I have no answers to the storms thrust

I have no answers to those of flaky mistrust

I see pure oceans covered in white rust

I saw my riverbed of pure sand turn into stardust
