Violets and a Purple Cyclamen

This Saturday the Weekend Challenge from ‘Weekly Prompts’ is March’s colour,  Purple. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here. My photos and the below poem is my response to their ‘Monthly Colour Challenge’.

Violets and a Purple Cyclamen

My morning courtyard is aglow

Below the garden’s colourful shadows

Of a newly blooming purple cyclamen

And the forever flowering bougainvillea

They are my sentinels for her hanging basket

Our wedding flower of Drooping Violets

Casting forever memories upon my writing booklet

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yeah… and Dad grew violet at the “Tullawalla” house, when we got married,… ’45’ years ago … and now I’m looking after that same hanging basket 45 years later… πŸ’œπŸ’œ

  1. Gorgeous photos! Beautiful poem! Right on song! πŸ™‚
Purple and it’s many shades have been my fav color since I was a little girl! Purple is royal, and also so calming and so cheery at the same time! πŸ™‚ It always brightens me up! Ha! πŸ™‚
Carole is in your purple flowering plants as she is in your heart and all of your precious shared memories! πŸ™‚

PS…β€œThe sky is already purple. The first few stars have appeared, suddenly, as if someone had thrown a handful of silver across the edge of the world.” – Alice Hoffman
