G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I was at a Zoom poetry meeting yesterday, and the prompt picture was a pair of roller blades, and I had 15 mins to write the poem… I just polished the wording a bit this morning, but basically it stayed the same…
The photo brings back wonderful rollin’ memories! π And that song has always been a fave! π
Your life has NOT been in vain! Keep rolling! Keep bathing in the soothing rain! π
How you feeling, Ivor?! Andy doc or med updates?
(((HUGS))) π
Yeah,.. I’m still rolling,.. my hospital neurologist appointment was postponed again until 31st March… but I’m coping ok…haha… not dropping too many plates
My poem was done at another Zoom poetry meeting,.. this time I was in Canada.. and the prompt was an old pair of roller blades on a verandah πππ€
Oh, gosh! Well, I’ll just keep praying for you through the 31st.
Canada! How cool! And what a great poem you birth-ed from the old roller blades prompt! Good job!!! π
What a virtual traveller you are. I liked the poem, but initially thought you were depressed. Glad to hear it was an off the cuff response to the roller blades. π
Nothing wrong with not taking the hills or bumpy paths. There’s something wonderful about taking a smoother stroll to appreciate the other things around.
I think youβve still got a bit of road to go)
