Feel the Real

Tullawalla by Ivor Steven, Kerri Costello, Paperback | Barnes & Noble® (barnesandnoble.com)

Feel the Real

They are not deaf

Why cannot they hear the fear?

Changing from white to fright

They are not dumb

Why cannot they walk the talk?

Turning truth into polling booths

They are not blind

Why cannot they not see the sea?

Changing from blue to spew

They are not serious

Why cannot they feel the real?

Defrosting ice-caps into road maps

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I don’t know the answers to your important questions. 😦
This is a powerful, thought-provoking, emotion-igniting poem, Ivor. I wish everyone in the world could read it and be challenged by it.
Great song to pair with your poem.
    (((HUGS))) 🙂

    1. Thanks Carolyn… I started writing about the wonders of nature, but somehow my quill did spill these words onto my thin blue lines …. so I went with the flow of my ocean … and “Feel the Real” was created … 😀😎🌏
