Beyond Dark There is Light

Looking back

What do you see?

Tall mountains and a dark sky behind me

Looking back

What do you see?

Bottomless wells and a deep river inside me

Looking back

What do you see?

Melted snowflakes and icy tears that drown me

Looking back

What do you see?

Treasured memories and a brave soul that revives me

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I must admit the photo brought smiles AND got me a teary-eyed. She is “just ahead” of you in this journey called life…and she is always watching out for you as you travel along. ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought I’d conquered the world when I managed to record a poem … took me months just to find the microphone ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. exactly a slow down of daily life allows us to explore and learn new skills, frankly if you took the virus away and the uncertainty most have around income, this is a great opportunity.

  2. We are, made up of, all the moments, that came, before, this, very moment in time, and, we can’t, escape our own pasts, or, deny it, we can only, review over the moments, and, amend our behaviors, in the present, if, needed.
